Preview: Heat v. Trail Blazers, 7:30 PM

  1. Written by: caseyholdahl

The Portland Trail Blazers begin a three-game homestand Thursday night with a nationally-televised contest against the Miami Heat. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM on TNT and 750 AM.

The Trail Blazers enter Thursday night's game having lost 104-95 to the Nuggets in Denver Wednesday night. Portland had five players score in double figures, lead by Jamal Crawford with 21, but the Trail Blazers, once again, dug themselves a whole in the first half that proved insurmountable.

“We just got outworked," said coach Nate McMillan. "That team came out and right from the start outworked us and pounded us on the boards, pounded us in the paint and wanted it more. Mentally, we got to get stronger on the road playing games like this and playing through situation like this.”

The Heat are playing their first game since the end of the All-Star break. They currently boast an eight-game winning streak and finished February having lost just twice. Thursday's game is the only contest of the season between these two teams.

Thursday night's game can be seen nationally on TNT. Brian Wheeler and Antonio Harvey will have the radio call on 750 AM The Game and on all of the stations of the Trail Blazers Radio Network.
