  2. Oregon Live: Trail Blazers' Andre Miller upset over suspension, says NBA is 'soft' and 'rules don't apply for everybody'
  3. “If I was a dirty player that was looking to go out and hurt somebody, then I could understand. ‘Oh, this guy has a reputation for taking out guys.’ Back in the day, players like John Stockton — who was a tough-minded player and, actually, some players thought he was dirty — never got suspended for anything. The league has changed. They make the rules, they favor the young guys now. And that’s how it is.”

  4. Oregon Live: Blazers: For Luke Babbitt, D-League assignment should provide playing time, perspective
  5. “He was on the inactive list, and he’s working hard in practice,” Blazers coach Nate McMillan said. “But with our schedule and really not practicing a lot, we felt like he needed to play. We’re in December and he hasn’t gotten a lot of time on the floor.”

  6. Columbian: Batum leads Blazers to win
  7. “When I hit that shot I was like (loud exhale), I really needed that,” said Batum, who actually did start Tuesday in place of suspended point guard Andre Miller, and scored eight of his 12 points in the fourth quarter. “I struggled for three quarters, didn’t play good defense on (Steve) Nash, and in the third quarter I wasn’t trusting myself. Two or three times I’d pass on shots. It was like I was a rookie. But when I got that one I was like ‘take it.’ I felt like that almost sealed the game.”

  8. Portland Tribune: Blazers cash in at line, sink Suns
  9. “Tonight was one of those games where everybody was in a really good rhythm,” said Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge, who led the way with a 10-for-10 performance at the line. “I felt comfortable when I was out there, and (the free throws) fell down.”

  10. Rip City Project: Game 21 Recap: Blazers 106, Suns 99
  11. "Patty Mills. What else can you say. Two weeks ago he was waving a towel, looking like a glorified mascot. He’s not an All-Star, or really a true contributor, but things could have gone worse for him on Tuesday. A lot worse. Steve Nash is one of the best point guards in the history of the NBA, and the damage he did against Patty was limited. There were times when Patty was shook beyond belief, but they weren’t the deciding factor. Patty’s stat line wasn’t great, and if he is going to play real back-up minutes he is going to have to improve. I’ll give Patty my highest accolades though by saying this, he reminded me NOT AT ALL of Sergio Rodriguez. I think Patty has potential, time will tell though. If he limits his mistakes, takes smart shots, and keeps dishing out the assists, we could be looking at Portland’s real back-up point guard. It might be time for Sean Marks to brush up on his Petey Pablo impression."

  12. Blazersedge: Media Row Report: Blazers 106, Suns 99
  13. "The 37-24 runaway final period was made possible by the unexpectedly strong second-unit play earlier in the game. Mills went from gimmick to game-changer in less than 29 minutes on Tuesday, tossing together nine points, three rebounds and seven assists in the best performance yet in his brief NBA career. It wasn't always pretty, but it was always energetic and infectious, as he helped Portland's second unit combine for 24 points, mostly by getting fellow guard Rudy Fernandez going."

  14. ESPN Insider: Trail Blazers are off the mark
  15. "Nate McMillan is one of the most successful offensive coaches in recent NBA history. This belies his reputation as a player, when he was a defensive specialist, and he doesn't carry the demeanor of an offensive savant."

  16. ESPN: Players seek end of age restriction
  17. "We want to go back to the way it was," a source from the NBA Players Association said. "The players have always been philosophically opposed to it. The vast majority of players feel a player should have the right to make a living. If he has the talent and wants to make money to help his family, he should have that right. It's just a matter of principle."

  18. ESPN: Awards Watch
  19. "D12 is third in the league in rebounds, fourth in double-doubles and field goal percentage, and fifth in blocks. Oh yeah, and the Magic have the league's No. 1 defense."

  20. ESPN: Best, worst stories in the West
  21. "The Blazers knew Roy's knees were problematic when they signed him to a max extension in 2009. Roy was rushed back in the 2010 playoffs, eight days after a meniscus tear and subsequent surgery. Now in his other knee Roy has no meniscus left to operate on, basically dooming him to a career of pain and limited mobility. While Roy deserves credit for helping turn the franchise around, his contract likely will strangle Portland if he can't produce."

  22. Ball Don'tLie: Ron Artest considers giving half his 2011-12 salary to charity
  23. "Although he may not finalize details until the summer, he called the plan "very serious. I've talked to my wife about it already. It's a powerful message. The message is about the inspiration. That's what I want, to inspire people. People will be like, ‘Wow. Why is he doing this? Oh, that's why. Wow. We need to help educate.' I didn't come [to the Lakers] for the money. Obviously I could have gone somewhere else, even a lesser market. Pay less taxes. The taxes here are freaking killing me, you know what I'm saying?"

  24. Oregon Live: NBA High-5: The league's hottest team is Dallas, which says 'oui' to a 10th straight win
  25. "The NBA's hottest team? That's an easy one -- the Dallas Mavericks, who beat Golden State 105-100 Tuesday for their 10th win in a row -- just the ninth double-digit winning streak in franchise history."
