  2. Oregon Live: Boston 99, Portland 95: Inspired finish gives struggling Blazers reason to hope in loss to Celtics
  3. ""If we play with that fight every game, with that emotion, that passion, then we'll dig out of this rut that we're in," said LaMarcus Aldridge, who played 45 minutes and scored 18 points. "This is something we can build off of.""

  4. Columbian: Allen’s late 3 sinks Trail Blazers
  5. "Wesley Matthews scored 23 points, including 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, and Andre Miller had 20 for the Blazers. LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy had 18 points apiece, and former UMass star Marcus Camby had nine rebounds and four blocked shots with zero points."

  6. Portland Tribune: No – not Ray Allen, again
  7. Allen’s bomb broke the hearts of the Blazers, who had stormed from behind with a 15-0 run that trimmed Boston’s lead to 96-95 in the final minute.

  8. Rip City Project: Game 18 Recap: Celtics 99, Blazers 95
  9. "Armon Johnson got bumped on Wednesday for Patty Mills. Mills has never played a meaningful moment in his professional career, and Wednesday I would say he made the most of his opportunity. Mills’ stat line was less than memorable, eight minutes played, one rebound, two assists, and two fouls, missing his only field goal attempt, but he didn’t turn the ball over at all. Johnson got the boot for turnovers. He’s the better player, but what the Blazers need is a reliable ball handler working with the second unit. I’m not saying Patty’s that guy, but getting minutes in a big game has to mean something. Patty did throw a nice look away pass on the fast break and a sweet lob to LaMarcus Aldridge."

  10. Blazersedge: Game 18 Recap: Blazers 95, Celtics 99
  11. "For the first time in a while the Blazers didn't run the offense primarily through LaMarcus Aldridge and all the guards looked happier for it. Not being a true low threat, nor quick-footed, nor a volume passer Aldridge doesn't necessarily open up shots for his smaller teammates. Tonight he used his quickness to counter Boston's superior bulk, spinning time and again for those now-familiar alley-oops. He worked his turn-around more than the face-up. He ended up 6-14 but like Roy drew plenty of foul shots, going 6-8 on the night. He scored 18 with 6 rebounds."

  12. Ball Don't Lie: LeBron James is in Cleveland, and Cleveland can't screw this up
  13. "No fan should have to go through anything that in any way approximates what LeBron James put Cleveland Cavalier fans through from last May to July. And, though nervous hand-wringing about free agency has long been a sporting staple (look at Texas Rangers fans this year with Cliff Lee; or Detroit Piston fans in 1999-00 with Grant Hill), no fan should have to deal with the uneasiness that followed James' too-short contract extension in 2006."

  14. SLAM: Evan Turner to Lose Starting Gig?
  15. "The rook’s play has been less than impressive of late, and Doug Collins may bring him off the bench. From the Philly Inquirer: “Over the past four games, he has made only two of 14 shots from the field, and totaled seven points and eight rebounds. He has struggled mightily in the starting lineup since Andre Iguodala returned from an Achilles’ tendon injury and soon might find himself among the reserves."

  16. DIME: Cleveland should show LeBron “nothing but love,” says Cavs teammate
  17. “You can’t make everybody happy. You can’t please everyone. I hope it’s not too bad for him, because he did a lot for that city. LeBron’s a heck of a talent and he did so much for that city, they can’t show him nothing but love.”

  18. ESPN: Daily Dime
  19. "Even the Mamba himself had to salute the outburst from the Rocket who is usually the designated stopper. Battier went off, scoring 11 of his 17 points in the final three minutes in a 109-99 win over the Lakers."

  20. Sports Illustrated: Rockets hand Lakers fourth straight loss, 109-99
  21. "In the fourth quarter, we did all of the things we've struggled with all year," Rockets coach Rick Adelman said. "We got most of the rebounds, we executed really well. Shane was huge ... it was just a solid win for us, obviously our best win of the year. We just hope we can build on this."

  22. Oregon Live: NBA High-5: What could be more fun than watching Cleveland fans boo LeBron James for 2½ hours?
  23. "James is making his first return to Cleveland in a Heat uniform, and the hype is just ridiculous, especially considering Cleveland is 7-10. After starting 4-3, the Cavaliers have lost seven of their last 10. But this game is all about James and his first return to the franchise he resurrected. "
